a son of man

"... a son of man" or (lit. a human being). The messianic title is not here intended. Rather, it reminds us of the "one like a son of man" (lit. one resembling a human being) of Daniel 7:13, who is seen ascending to heaven to sit at the Father's right hand. It is important to note, that in (v. 27) the Son continues to be referred to as as a human being notwithstanding his ascension and glorification. This is deliberate. For as a "new creation" the Son remains human, albeit one no longer vivified by blood but directly by spirit, immortal, empowered, glorified and incorruptible, able to move between celestial and terrestrial realms.
