Psalm 138:8/ 137:8 LXX

In the WEB, will moderators please consider that the first part is better translated: "Yahweh will recompense on my behalf."

The LXX suggests the meaning in the context of the passage. Compare: "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay." (Rom.12:19, NKJ). See also Deut.32:35: "Vengeance is Mine, and recompense."

In Deut.32:35, the same Greek word is used, meaning 'repay/ recompense'. 'The Lord will recompense my enemies for their wrath against me' is what I believe the context of Psalm 138:7-8 suggests.
